Last week was an excellent week for the Homestayfriend team. As part of Entrepreneurial Spark, we were invited to an evening event and asked to compete in an ‘Elevator Pitch’ event. The idea is that you have 1minute to succinctly tell an investor about your business and leave them wanting more! It’s amazing what you can fit into 1 minute if you really try.
The event was a massive success and the feedback we received was extremely positive. The judges, Willie and Susan Haughey were so impressed that they awarded every business £1000! That’s £36,000 in total. We were astounded by their generosity.
We were also lucky enough to listen to Willie Haughey, who talked to us about his journey from start-up to a company now valued a £500 million. It was inspirational stuff.
